Description
Antique Silverplate Trinket Dish with Enamel Crest. Crest has a ship and reads "R.M.S. Canada". This is actually "SS Canada" of the White Star Line / Dominion Line. The ship was launched in 1896 and remained in service until 1926. She was used as a troop ship during the Boer War (1899-1902) and again as a transport during WW1 (1914-1918). You can find more info online by searching online for "White Star Dominion SS Canada". The trinket dish measures approx. 5" in diameter (across alternating corners) x 7/8" tall. Nice reticulated design around the sides and on the top corners. The dish is used and in good condition considering age and use. There are a few subtle dings and bends, as well a few spots of pitting and some typical light surface wear and some tarnish. It could use a good polish and buff. No apparent markers mark or hallmarks. Please see photos for more details. My Inventory # B1
