    Description

A VERY NICE REPLICA EXAMPLE OF A 1903 LETTER TO THOMAS ANDREWS, ESQ. NAVAL ARCHITECHT AT HARLAND AND WOLFF, BELFAST, FROM ISMAY AND IMRIE CO.
THIS LETTER IS FAR FROM PERFECT BUT IT IS PRESENTABLE.
I CLEANED IT UP TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY AND I'M SATISFIED WITH ADDING IT TO MY COLLECTION. (CONSIDERING THAT THE SOURCE DOCUMENT IS 118 YEARS OLD, & THAT IT DOES HAVE A FEW SMUDGES ON THE ORIGINAL, I THINK THAT IT LOOKS PRETTY DARN GOOD, AND WILL MAKE A NICE ADDITION TO YOUR COLLECTION.
BASICALLY, THE TEXT OF THE LETTER IS TO ANDREWS, THANKING HIM FOR HIS HARD WORK AND SENDING HIM A CHEQUE FOR L200, "IN RECOGNITION OF SERVICES RENDERED TO THE COMPANY"
IT IS FROM THE WHITE STAR LINE OFFICES AT JAMES STREET, LIVERPOOL, FROM THE STEAMSHIP DEPT.
THE LETTERHEAD IS CUT OFF AT THE LEFT SIDE BUT MOST IS STILL THERE.
THE SIGNATURE IS ISMAY IMRIE & CO, AND LOOKS VERY SIMILAR TO BRUCE ISMAY'S SIGNATURE, SO IT IS QUITE LIKELY THAT HE DICTATED  THE LETTER AND THEN SIGNED IT.
ALSO IN PENCIL, AT THE TOP LEFT IS WRITTEN, MR. PIRRIE, CARLISLE, HUGHES. IT IS PRINTED ON HEAVY 65LB ARCHIVAL CARD STOCK.
I SHIP VIA USPS WITH TRACKING. YOUR REPLICA LETTER WILL BE CAREFULLY AND SECURELY PACKAGED FOR A SAFE DELIVERY.
THANKS FOR LOOKING AND PLEASE CHECK BACK OFTEN AS I AM ADDING NEW ITEMS ALMOST EVERY DAY!
