Vtg Funky RED CHICKEN PAIR 🐓 Hen & Rooster 🐓 MCM Mid-Century Vintage Ceramic

Description

This retro ceramic hen and rooster set would look great in any chicken collector’s kitchen! Both are a solid, deep red color, other than their beaks and feet, and the grass at their feet. They stand around 5 1/2” tall and the detailing on each one is really nice. At one point it appears that the rooster’s tail end was broken off, then repaired. But the repair job was very nicely done and the crack is very hard to see. Actually, I didn’t even notice it until I put my glasses on to clean the figurines. Otherwise, the biggest flaw is a small chip-hole that was left after the repair, which is on one side of the rooster. (See photos.) Other than the flaws on the rooster, both statues are in very nice MCM Mid-Century condition, with no other chips, cracks or repairs that I could find. The flaws on the rooster aren’t horrible at all, in my opinion, but look for yourself and judge. As stated, these are MCM vintage, and from the design and painting style I suspect they might be Japan made during that era, but there are no makers marks that I could see on either piece indicating so.
