Vintage Hand Cut Red Cased Glass Vase
From Bohemia Art Glass of Czechoslovakia
For sale one (1) hand cut red glass vase. This vase was hand crafted in Czechoslovakia in 1988 by Bohemia Art Glass.
The handcrafting of cased glass is a unique and specialized art. Using centuries-old techniques of glass blowing, the artisans shape the pure, clear glass. Then the newly-formed clear glass is plunged into a fiery kiln where the red glass encases its body. Only then can the master cutter, who with care and precision, painstakingly cuts though the envelope of color to release the clear glass encased beneath it.
This item is previously owned, on display in the consignee's estate. No chips, cracks or any other defects. The original owner kept very good records of all the pieces in their collection. Information from the estate catalog/bill of sale defines this piece as: Hand Cut Vase, Czechoslovakia 1988.
