This flag is NOT available anywhere else and would make an excellent addition to your historic collection. This is a reproduction, not an original flag. Only a limited run was made of this design in February 2020 and after it sells out we will not reorder this design. We will move on to a new flag to reproduce so be sure to get one before they sell out!
Flag Quality:
These high-quality flags are made of heavy duty nylon and are made to last. They are produced using an applique (cut and sewn design) construction. Flags are made of 400 denier nylon weave whereas most flags normally use 100 or 200 denier nylon or cheap polyester. You can certainly tell the thickness difference of these flags compared to others. The header is woven polypropylene webbing (not lightweight canvas) with #3 spur grommets. The flags are double sided. They are also treated with a special ultraviolet inhibitor to prevent fading from sunlight and a polyurethane coating is applied to protect and seal threads. Additionally, each flag has an anti-microbial coating that helps prevent mildewing from excess moisture. These extra steps increase durability and lifespan of our flags. For the edges of the flag, a separate binding using a similar sewing method for sails (zigzag stitch) is applied to the edges to increase longevity. Most other flags simply fold over the edge which leaves the raw edge to fray on the back. The fly end of the flag is extra reinforced with thick edges and stitching. Compare these flags to others and you will be very impressed. These flags are made by Prestige Flags in San Diego and they specialize in golf and nautical flags (so they are made to high standards to survive those harsh environments).
All of my flags are made in the United States. It may cost a little more for me to have them made here, but the quality is unmatched.
Flag history/design:
Our flags are designed according to historic photographs of the flags and
government
publications. Research was conducted to ensure it is as faithful to the original as possible.
The U.S. Life-Saving Service was
formerly
established in 1878 after several years of service saving mariners in distress up and down the US coast. In 1915 the service would merge with the Revenue Cutter Service to form the US Coast Guard. The Coast Guard continues to this day with the
tradition
of saving lives at sea.
This pennant would usually be flown under the US flag and the district flag at a life-saving station.
We are very proud to
bring
this great design back to life to honor those great surfmen.
Shipping
I offer free trackable shipping in the United States no matter how many flags you order!
I try to process your order within 3 days. Shipping is via USPS First Class Mail or Priority Mail depending on weight. When your flag is shipped, you will receive an email with a tracking number for your package.
Please Note - I only ship outside the United States if you agree to my
international policies:
1) As First Class Mail does not allow for delivery confirmation/tracking, I am NOT responsible if the package is lost or held up by Customs. If you report a lost package, the USPS will first wait 41 days from the shipping date before they open an investigation. The investigation could then take up to 3 months. While this is very rare and has not happened to any of the packages sent to several countries, you should be aware of the risks in shipping overseas.
2) I am not responsible for customs taxes, VAT, or other fees your country may levy on our packages. Your costs for shipping does NOT cover those extra fees. I can not be responsible if your post office won't deliver your flag without you paying an extra tax or tariff and I will not help you cover that fee. That is an issue between you and your country as I can't begin to understand multiple nation's customs laws. Sometimes there is a fee but most times there is not. Please purchase a flag with the understanding that there may be other costs involved. I will ship to a friend's address in the US if you wish.
I have had many happy customers in several countries since 2012 with no issues so far, but please understand the risk.
If you have questions, need more information, or want more detailed pictures of the flag, please see SignalFlags.Weebly.com. Be sure to check out my other listings on eBay!
