3 Vintage Signed MEXICAN Sterling Silver SEWING THIMBLES Lot  TAXCO 925

Description

3  vintage signed Mexico Sterling Silver thimbles  in  excellent condition. This small collection of thimbles was purchased from an  avid quilter, collector of vintage fabrics, and skilled seamstress. Two of thimbles, the smallest and tallest,  were used to stitch  quilts. There are several small needle dents in the tall slender thimble that should be considered character, not damage!
The smallest thimble 7/8" tall, and  the large 1" richly decorated thimble appear to have been made by the same artistan, but based on the stamped marks they were made in different time periods.  The small thimble is  the oldest, marked simply TAXCO 925. The large ornate thimble is stamped MEXICO,  and it also  has an overstamped or double struck  artsit's mark that is all but impossible for me to read.  The only part  I can read is "RLING" ( a partial sterling).
Again, Based on marks, the long slender thimble is the newest, with modern number -letter marks
that indicate this thimble was made after 1979. Marked
JMA82 and Eagle Stamp 3.  It also has a poorly  struck mark that appears to include Mexico, maybe Hecho Mexico?
