20” Vintage Antique Early Example of American Character Sweet Sue Doll Hard Plastic Beautiful Blonde #Me is redressed in adorable yellow gown has some paint rubs on arm sockets and joints has paint rubs also on tip of nose tiny marks on upper lip and cheeks peeling up of wig on right side
American Character's Sweet Sue. She has the Sweet Sue face-model that is often mistaken for Arranbee dolls. But the thin ridges above each of her eye openings gives her identity away. Hard plastic Sweet Sue dolls from this period have these eye ridges --- hard plastic Arranbee dolls do not.
Although this wig style is found more often on Arranbee dolls, the Sweet Sue dolls did occasionally use this same wig on their formal dolls too. Yes, she's Sweet Sue, and she's one of their prettiest earlier face-models.
