    Description

Handwritten diary by a passenger aboard the RMS Celtic during an ocean voyage from 16-24 July 1910. Diary titled ''Our Ocean Trip'' is customized for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers who were traveling to Great Britain for a conference, with one of the members here describing various games played onboard, a ''gala night'' that seemed to bomb because of ''Engineers trying to be humorous'', and sea sickness suffered by people on the ship. With much more detailed content. Lot also includes two entertainment programs for the nights of 20 and 23 July 1910. The RMS Celtic was one of the most popular ocean liners of its day, especially among immigrants; it set a White Star Line record for the highest number of passengers in a single crossing, with 2,957 passengers onboard in September 1904. Diary measures 5'' x 8'', consisting of 20 pages. Programs measure 4.5'' x 7'' and 5'' x 8''. Very good plus condition.
